I am excited to announce the opening of The Online Collection of Video Lessons and Personal Styles here at Belly Dance Blvd.
In this project, we aim to gather a collection of video lessons that will expose the great diversity and creativity among belly dancers. Each dancer has a movement that she does in a way that is unique to her; every teacher had developed different ways to explain things to her students. In this project we invite belly dance teachers to film themselves teach a movement, a combination or something that they feel represents their dance style or style of teaching, and we will add it to the online lessons section of the site. If you deeply believe in sharing, and if you are interested in how each one of us teach and in personal interpretations of movements or techniques, you are invited to join the project!
Each lesson should be 5-10 minutes long. It is flexible and you can do it as you wish, but we do recommend to introduce yourself first, then include a short demonstration of your dance, then teach whatever you decide to teach, and at the end, show how you use what you taught when you dance. You can choose to teach a specific move, a step, a combination, use of props or anything else, even warm up, and of course, you are welcome to film more than one lesson. After filming, you can choose to edit it yourself and send it to us or let us edit it. Either way we need to get it in order to publish it on the site. You can add any text that you wish to be shown next to the video (where you teach, your dance philosophy or whatever). Needless to say, we believe you will gain a lot from sharing with others. It is also an opportunity to introduce yourself and your style to the world. Contact us for any question that you have about that.
Watch the lessons that were collected so far here.

Not a belly dance teacher yet? Join our other project - Belly Dancing Around the World, which is open to all - students as well as professionals. In it we collect videos of dancers dancing at world-class sites - we already danced at the Giza pyramids, at the Israeli side of the dead sea, and will soon have a dancer send to us a video from the Great Wall of China. What world-class site do you have where you live?
With love, Tamar and Team
