Eighth Lesson
The Video Lessons Project

The Eighth belly dancing lesson is here... In this video we learn how to do hip snaps, and how to walk with them. I want to remind you to start with the basic posture as was taught in the first lesson, and also that learning to belly dance over the internet does not constitute an alternative for taking classes with a teacher. Now go have fun!

We hear in this lesson two music tracks, the first one is the song "Rona" done by Alabina, an Arabic-based group that performs a mix of world music: Middle Eastern, Arabic, French, Hebrew, and Spanish Gypsy music. The second track is an Arabic remix, "Law Kount Neseet" by Tamer and Shereen.

I recently came across a charming video clip of most of Egyptian golden age belly dancers edited as if they were all dancing to "Aziza" by Mouhammad Abdel Wahab:

Cairo was great, I miss it already.
