Fourth Lesson
The Video Lessons Project
Here is the fourth video lesson! Today we learn the horizontal figure eight (and variations, as always). Again, at the bottom of this page you can write comments regarding the lesson. I want to remind you to start with the basic posture as was taught in the first lesson, and also that learning to belly dance over the internet does not constitute an alternative for taking classes with a teacher. Now go have fun!

The magical music in this lesson is from one of my favorite CD's, "Circle of Dreams", and I am glad to say it can be bought in the boutique, if you like it too. The musician is Shem Tov Levi, one of Israel's leading musicians, and with him took part in this album some of the leading and most creative musicians on the Israeli ethnic musical scene.
In the album, Shem Tov Levy returns to the sounds of his childhood, to the Balkan roots of his home, to the Yemenite She'arim neighborhood. A complete mesh of places, atmosphere, people, and music that make up the rich cultural and ethnic ambience of this CD. It is a voyage through time to the musical roots from which and in which he grew up. I love this kind of music voyages.

This time I chose for you a dance video of Fifi Abdo, the leading Egyptian belly dancer and actress:

If you like her style, watch more videos of her. Go to the video gallery and look for the sub-category dedicated to her.

As always, hip scarves like the ones I wear can be bought in the boutique.
